October 15th Solidarity - Remember the state terror raids

The Wellington October 15 Solidarity group has been meeting since the
day after the raids and arrests last year. The raids raised many
interlocking issues, the on-going court case, the Terrorism
Suppression Act and the demands for Te Mana Motuhake o Tuhoe and Tino
Rangatiratanga. The October 15 Solidarity group has called a meeting
for anyone interested in working on these issues in 2008.

You are invited to a campaign strategy and planning meeting on Tuesday evening, February 19th at 7pm at Thistle Hall, top of Cuba Street in Wellington.

The meeting will continue the work from last week on a strategy for the campaign. We hope to establish a clear campaign purpose and goals, and some strategies and tactics for use.

Stop the raids!

Meet in Aotea Square, 12noon Saturday 23rd February 2008.

There will be a rally starting at 12pm on Saturday, 26 February, 2007 at Manners Mall in Wellington to show our support with the arrested and to inform the public.

We demand:
- all charges be dropped against all defendants
- no more police raids, no more arrests
- repeal all terrorism laws
- leave Tuhoe alone

Protest - Saturday 23rd February, 12 noon, meet in Cathedral Square.

This week the state rolled out more raids targetting tino rangatiratanga and te mana motuhake o Tuhoe activists. Join us on the street in opposing this ongoing persecution from the police, to say NO to more raids, to demand the charges for the Urewera 19 are dropped, and to stand in solidarity with the people of Tuhoe.

Featuring music and speakers. Please bring banners, placards, etc.

The next court appearance will be on 5th March 2008, 10am in the Auckland District Court.

There will be a solidarity action in Wellington to support the 'Urewera 19' on Wednesday March 5th as they appear in court in Auckland on that day. People are meeting at the corner of Bowen Street and Lambton Quay with a banner, leaflets and a megaphone. All those in support and solidarity with the arrestees are welcome.
