Tucson: Benefit For Maori And Anarchists Of New Zealand30/05/2008 - 18:30 30/05/2008 - 22:30 Benefit For Maori And Anarchists Of New Zealand On 15th October 2007, over 300 police arrested 17 indigenous, anarchist, environmental and anti-war activists across Aotearoa (New Zealand). The police wanted to charge 12 activists under the Terrorism Suppression Act for alleged participation in a terrorist organisation. However, these charges won't be laid. After 4 weeks in jail, everyone was released. A trial will still take place though for alleged possession of weapons. We will be showing 'Tuhoe: A History of Resistance' which provides background for the recent repression and iluminates the richness of indigenous resistance. We will also be showing a presentation on the raids and providing current information. Friday, 30th May, 6.30pm Dry River Radical Resource Center |
