A one-day call-over in the Auckland District Court.

Five days have been put aside in September for the solicitor-general's case against Dominion Post editor Tim Pankhurst and Fairfax New Zealand. David Collins is taking contempt proceedings against them for publishing 'Operation 8' conversations secretly recorded by police over their two year investigation. The court hearing start on 15th September 2008 in Wellington.

Two Wellington Operation 8 defendants are challenging their non-association order in the Wellington High Court.

Raunatiri Hunt, who was arrested on 19 February 2008 as part of Operation 8, will not have to attend the deposition hearing in Auckland in September with his 18 co-accused. His lawyer, Nicholas Dutch, conceded there was a prima facie case to answer but said all of the evidence against Hunt could be dealt with by a depositions hearing in Tauranga.

Court Appearance: Pre-deposition hearing at the Auckland District Court, 19 May at 10am. All of the arrestees have been excused.

The defendants have been excused from the next ‘call-over’ on 18 April when several further applications will be lodged by counsel for the defence.

The entire month of September has been set aside for a depositions hearing for the 18 people facing firearms charges in connection with the police raids in different parts of the country.
