Beyond Resistance is proud to present Tuhoe: History of Resistance, the
fiery account of Tuhoe’s resistance to the NZ Governement and its volatile
relationship with the Crown, in rememberence of the State Terror Raids of
2007. Presented to mark the 2rd anniversary of the raids, all proceeds from
the night will go to the ongoing struggle of the arrestees and their defense
fund.

WEA (59 Gloucester Street), Otautahi/Christchurch.
$5 entry — all proceeds to the October 15th defense fund.

Explosive Expression: Art auction

A gala evening art auction of works from over 40 artists including James Robinson, Freeman White, Ngahina Hohaia, Fiona Jack and Brett Graham. The auction will be held at Thistle Hall Gallery, Cuba Street and on-line bidding is available to people from around the country (see the 'Art Auction' menu tab for details). The auction is being held to raise funds for any trial and to raise awareness of the political issues in this case. Art of all sizes, tastes and prices will be on sale. Community Solidarity Dinner + Movie Night

An awesome evening of curries and movies in solidarity with political activists arrested in 'terror raids' in the United States and New Zealand. The film 'Terrorizing Dissent' focuses on the events leading up to the Republican National Convention in Minnesota last year, and the 'pre-emptive' arrest of 8 political activists on trumpted up charges. The evening will include speakers from the October 15th Solidarity group (www.October15thSolidarity.info) and the RNC 8 (www.rnc8.org), along with music and political stalls from various groups.

The Anarchist Black Cross is hosting a film screening of Black August a film about George Jackson, Black Panther to fundraise for the October 15th Solidarity fund and for the ABC.

Radical craft for social revolution

You are invited to an evening of radical craft and really yummy baking!

Tuesday, 17 February at 7:30pm Venue: New Crossways, 4 Roxburgh St, Level 1, Mt Vic, Wellington

Freedom fighter and radical cross-stitcher Rayna Fahey will give a talk about radical craft. Crafting items and yummy baked goods will be on hand for sale to raise money for the October 15th Solidarity fund.

The Freedom Shop Garage Sale

It's been a year since the October 15th state terror raids and the Freedom Shop is having a garage sale to support the defendants.

Awareness raising and fundraising night at Dry River, Tucson Arizona (USA)

Presentations on the raids, vegan potluck and music at the Dry River collective space, starting at 6pm on Saturday night, August 30. The collective is at 740 North Main Street in Tucson.

Dry River Collective is an autonomous group of individuals working to create a community based on sustainability, cooperation, and self-sufficiency. We promote education and direct action to resist all forms of oppression and hierarchy.
