Resources for campaigns

We hope that resources available on this page will encourage you to get active in the struggle for justice for the arrestees and for Ngai Tuhoe. We hope these will be useful for the work you are doing in educating people about Tino Rangatiratanga, terrorism, colonisation and Te Mana Motuhake o Tuhoe. These resources have come from a variety of sources and are not authored or endorsed by anyone. Please feel free to amend or edit as appropriate to your needs.

  • Public Meeting - In the Aftermath of the Urewera Raids: Discussing colonisation, courts and contempt
6:30pm, Monday 22nd September 2008, St Johns in the City, cnr Willis and Dixon Sts, Wellington.

    Speakers:
Moana Jackson (Ngati Kahungunu, Ngati Porou)
Speaking about the context of the raids of October 15th last year

Steven Price (media lawyer, author of www.medialawjournal.co.nz)
Speaking about media law and contempt of court

Followed by question and answer session, then talk over tea, coffee and biscuits. With the depositions hearing for eighteen of those arrested in the raids last year currently taking place in Auckland, and with Fairfax (the publisher of the Dominion Post) facing trial for contempt of court in Wellington 15th - 19th September, it is a timely opportunity to look at the broader political context. We hope you can join us at the meeting.
