No more clogged up system. Job’s a good un. MX is based on Debian Wheezy. Something I’ve noticed with Ubuntu, is that powering on the laptop with the wifi physically switched off, won’t enable the wifi when the switch is turned on again.
When I moved the hard drive from my old latitude to this one, the fan problem disappeared this was with Ubuntu 8. I must use external mouse. Let’s keep this alive and try to figure out what’s wrong; I’m sure there are others with this problem.

I have the onboard graphics Intel MHDwhich also works out of the box in 8. First, the fan problem is related to the nvidia drivers. That Ubuntu version is quite old. With the 9-cell battery, I am getting just over 4 hours of battery life, which linud like plenty to me.
Have you run any tests to see if those problems happen to you? I think that have to be similar utility for linux.

I can’t get my webcam to work on my Latitude E Sounds works fine, so I’m guessing the original comment about needing to manually install ALSA is just an old comment.
